Aunty tamar came out today to give ben his beginning of season massage... poor wee boy, he was fed hay from the ground to begin with but there was so much waste yo asked (understandably) for me to put it in a hay net, he became quite brutal with his eating, 2 small holed haynets, lunging and grabbing the hay with force, pretty soon I noticed his neck muscles had started to build up under his neck and his head carriage was higher, we have now switched to a hay hutch and his feeding behaviour is a lot calmer and obviously he is now eating from ground level again. However, the damage done to the neck was still there, his muscles under the neck are going down but poor boy his poll area was so tense, and he was not a happy bunny about having it worked on! Haynets! I flipping detest them! He was much happier and more comfortable when I turned him back out in the field bless him. So glad I had him done before we started work.
