Helo! Image for reference. Please help out the massive idiot(me). For the life of me I cannot get correct bend on right rein. I go all corners like this. I have had 3 seperate trainers explain me how to turn coretly but still I turn like this. I feel so so so sad for my poor horse who has to go in corners like this. Any help or any explanation to chicken brain like me about how to do this coretly would help a lot. Thanks!!!

It's probably a rider balance issue. If you're like me you bring your inside leg up and collapse through your waist on your inside when on a bend. Try extending your inside leg down and stretching up through your waist. Taking the reins in the outside hand and putting your inside hand up (like in school) can keep you straighter. Then lots of inside leg and making sure your seat bones are even.

It's hard without seeing a video but years what id try

First of all loosen your contact. Work in a large circle. Square even...

And practice using your weight. So as you come to the corner gently adjust your weight to the outside,

Outside leg off, but push your heel down tiny bit drop your outside shoulder. But you want your outside shoulder more forward than your inside.

With your inside leg just gently push.

What does this achieve?

Your opening up the horse to step through , whilst pushing across to keep on track

When this is happening then take up a bit of contact, inside rein to encourage bend. Push with your inside leg to keep out near to fence.

Really play around with your seat, if you want horse to come in, drop your inside hip ( heel) but also your shoulder a little

Horse to go out outside leg shoulder.

Remember to keep your head up and eyes focused on a point way ahead...not a few feet in front.

When you feel like you have some of the above happening take up a stronger contact, horse should naturally bend around your inside leg.

Hopefully that all makes some sort of sense!
