Bentonite Montmorillonite 1m558 for hind gut ulcers?

Chatting with a lady I have just met who has stomach issues with her horse. Horse has had problems for a while, been scoped and has had various treatments, there is a possibility that hind gut ulcers are the cause. Her last resort is having his stomach repopulated with good bacteria from another horse. She is now feeding a product containing Bentonite Montmorillonite 1m558. It is a natural clay as far as I can tell. Can't remember the name but remember as a kid a clay based drink that was for diarrhea, I assume this is a similar thing. Anyone know anything about it please?
 
It could be Zeolite which is a volcanic clay and is often used for horses with ulcers and as a general detox. People can take it as well. Have a google and read up about it, it is apparently very successful.
 
Bentonite and kaolinite are good against diarrhea. Kaolinite is used in the Protexin product range. I have used bentonite clay when my horse had diarrhea from too much spring grass, I think it's more efficient than activated charcoal (which I think is best against bloating but not very efficient against diarrhea).
Zeolite wouldn't have the same effect as bentonite, it's a different kind of clay.

What effect would Zeolite have on a horse and which is best bentonite or Zeolite.
