Hello,

I bought some Benzyl Benzoate for my lads sweetitch and now i need some more but it seems really hard to get hold of. I got it last year for £3 for 500ml, now the cheapest I can find is £15 for 1litre. I'd prefer a 1litre bottle but i could always buy 2 x 500ml bottles.

Can anyone find it cheaper please? I'm don't see why it would increase in price so much in probably 8 months or so!

Hate paying postage too just free delivery would be good unless item is cheaper than £15 with the p&p!

Chemist by me doesnt stock it.

Aww its brilliant x only thing that works imo x

Killitch is basically the same i believe but more expensive and think it has an extra ingredient. My gelding hasnt had any problems this year other than he's just got a few patches on his face and the very top of his mane but usually he'd have nothing left by now!

I tend to put a small amount on as a preventative before it would start, dont need alot and a 1l bottle last a year easily and i spill it all the time

Its designed for scabies so it soothes and my lad instantly stops itching once its on. I've never used any washes/sweet itch shampoos so i dont know what those are like but dont fancy bathing him all the time.

Fantastic stuff, we used to buy it from the chemist too but I've heard someone say recently that you can't anymore but not sure why. Maybe try a couple of chemists or ask your vet?

We used to use it to great effect with a sweet itch sufferer at the riding school I volunteered at as a kid, be a shame if it's not available any more. Hope you find some at a sensible price.

One of my friends gets it for her horses from Hyperdrug- may be worth a try.

Also know of someone that uses neem oil for sweetitch too.

K27, thats where i can find it for £15. Just thought it was a bit cheaper thats all x Guess £15 for a mane and tail isnt alot!! haha

We were paying around £7 for 500 ml, so your litre price isn't bad at all!!

It was briefly taken off the market but is now back and available.. supposedly.

its £5 postage making it £20. Whys it all gone up so much!

Yeah, i heard it was stopped as it wasnt on the 'regulations' for human use and was replaced with something else.

I'll have to check the spelling at yard later, but local chemists near me stock it under the name ascerbiol emulsion. I bought a load of it about a year or so ago so can't remember price.

Try mortuary or hospital suppliers as we use it for scabies/maggots etc when doing our lovely jobs
