Hi everyone

I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment. Had an email last night from the people who have my pony on loan saying that they haven't managed to sell their old pony as planned, so they will have to return him to me. Excited though I am to have him back, it couldn't really be worse timing. I'm saving for a house at the moment, and I have another pony, Bailey2 to bring on with the hope of selling.

It's all fine with B2 - he costs me about £100 a month all in all, and as he lives out and eats nothing but grass and gets checked for me I don't even have to go down every day (the yard is brilliant but its a long way away.) He is for sale but I haven't been in a massive rush due to the rubbish market, him being so low maintenance and I'm having lots of fun with him!

B1 can't go there - there are no stables left and he can't live out all winter. It is also just too far for me to go every day and he would need feeding. So now I think I will need to move them both to somewhere nearer to me, and find a sharer for B1 to help me financially.

I now need to find a yard that is somewhere either NEAR my house (in woodley, near reading) or on my route to and from work (I work in high wycombe) Good areas will be hurst area, binfield, wargrave, twyford, poss burchetts green. The thing is I need a stable for B1 but grass livery on the same site for B2 - that is harder to find than I expected. I would also need a decent enough school and acceptable hacking, and for it to be reasonably priced! This seems to be harder than I imagined!! All would be fine if I had sold B2!! Arrrrgh! Stressed!!! But I can't wait to get my boy back - I have missed him like mad :)

Hi there,

Our yard has a couple of empty (small) stables but they dont offer grass livery, its £100 per month per stable/grazing. Its not far from Winnersh. How big are your horses as the empty boxes are small..... email me if you want to kwow more.

I would pop a nice 'wanted' advert up at Countrywide (on your way to/from work). As it's the Equestrian Event this Thursday, bound to be a fair few owners/yard owners will read the advert. Or get networking on Thursday while you enjoy your hog roast, might see you there! Also I think there was a yard in Pinkneys Green with school and grass livery/stables advertising recently.

What about Sheeplands Farm? Not sure what facilities they have, daughter watches the horses from school, but know the hacking is OK as spoke to a couple of ladies used to livery round the corner from us who moved there.

Could you not sort another loan out from the yard he's currently at? Should be 4 weeks notice anyway so gives you some time to sort something out possibly :)

thanks everyone :)

Dubsie where is sheeplands farm? :) Good idea about countrywide!!! Will stick some ponies for share signs up definitely too!!!

ritzyoo winnersh would be good but does it have a school? Also ponies are 14.2 and 13.2 how small is small? ;)

Binky - She has agreed to give me a month to sort stuff out - i have already had quite a lot of interest from people wanting a full loan, it seems harder than finding a good sharer!!! I am quite keen to take him back and get a sharer no to be honest - I've missed my boy!!! :)

Hiya,
the horses that were in the stables were 14.2 and the other was about 13.0hh. It does have a 20x50 outdoor flood lit school yep!

cheers
