Hi everyone
I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment. Had an email last night from the people who have my pony on loan saying that they haven't managed to sell their old pony as planned, so they will have to return him to me. Excited though I am to have him back, it couldn't really be worse timing. I'm saving for a house at the moment, and I have another pony, Bailey2 to bring on with the hope of selling.
It's all fine with B2 - he costs me about £100 a month all in all, and as he lives out and eats nothing but grass and gets checked for me I don't even have to go down every day (the yard is brilliant but its a long way away.) He is for sale but I haven't been in a massive rush due to the rubbish market, him being so low maintenance and I'm having lots of fun with him!
B1 can't go there - there are no stables left and he can't live out all winter. It is also just too far for me to go every day and he would need feeding. So now I think I will need to move them both to somewhere nearer to me, and find a sharer for B1 to help me financially.
I now need to find a yard that is somewhere either NEAR my house (in woodley, near reading) or on my route to and from work (I work in high wycombe) Good areas will be hurst area, binfield, wargrave, twyford, poss burchetts green. The thing is I need a stable for B1 but grass livery on the same site for B2 - that is harder to find than I expected. I would also need a decent enough school and acceptable hacking, and for it to be reasonably priced! This seems to be harder than I imagined!! All would be fine if I had sold B2!! Arrrrgh! Stressed!!! But I can't wait to get my boy back - I have missed him like mad
