Hi,

Your opinions on the below saddle fitters

James Turner
Andrew Allen

Who would you use and why?
Are they both qualified? or where can I find this

Thanks :)

Andrew Allen is very good and reasonable cost, don't know if he's qualified but would come under the 'been doing it for so long doesn't need qualifications' category as far as I'm concerned.

Interestingly my friend is quite anti Andrew Allen. He came to fit some saddles at ours and wasn't rated. I am often seeing him in Millwheel picking up saddles. If James Turning is the guy based in Chobham then he is the guy who I have only heard good things about..

Why shouldn't he get saddles from Millwheel? they've got to come from somewhere if you want second-hand. I've only used him for stuffing/new straps etc. but he did sell my friend a new synthetic and came out to fit/refit it at no extra charge.

Andrew Allen "fitted" a saddle to my boy that didnt fit, so wouldnt recommend!
I used to use a lday that came from Basingstoke when I lived over that way, I cant remember her name I'm afraid but Im sure if you check out the Master Saddler's website you should find her.
Alice Nutkins (SP??!!) also covers that area & have heard good things about.
