What are they like? temperament wise, what health problems are they prone to? What is the average age for them to live to? How expensive are they to buy? Do they drool a lot? etc
This is just out of curiosity, I've wanted one since I first saw one when I was a little girl. Obviously with me still living with my parents and 10 dogs I cant have one yet, but I do want one eventually.

Well i haven't had one personally, but i know someone who has always had them and they're sooo lovely! My dad even wanted me to get one, i told him he was mad, i like short haired dogs! Hehe! But temperament wise, so sweet! Drool... yes! Lol.

I know her last died rather young from a health issue? But i'm not sure what it was.... have you researched on the breed club websites? Will be lots of info on those about the breed, its health problems, etc

There is lots of info Here

A lady who used to be at our yard had two but lost one last year to heart failure.

He was quite old when it happened.

Other than that she has had no other health problems with them.

It says in the article above that they are dry mouthed dogs = no slobbering!

My neighbour has two and they are absolute angels. Their temperament cannot be beaten. As they're large dogs, I should imagine bloat and hip dysplasia are breed concerns, but you might want to check on that.

My OH's family have Bernese and have had for the last 25 years, they keep a couple of bitches and breed on a small scale.

Temperament is faultless, they are just big, cuddly, lovable personalities. As far as health concerns go, my OH's family haven't experienced any. I was expecting them to suffer joint problems like other big breeds, but seemingly not. Their older bitch is 8 years old now and still fit as a fiddle and very bouncy, but going slightly deaf! The pups sell for between £850 and £950 I think, but from a professional breeder they could be more, I don't know. Not drooly at all.

Some of last years puppy cuteness for you!

AWWWWWWWW I WANT A PUPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok so I already have one but I want one of THOSE!!!!

good job my OH likes them!!!

hmm when we get big house maybe?!

i dont have good experiences with them as a vet. they die far too young and are prone to a variety of weird diseases esp cancer. i have lost several in the last year due to cancer and we dont have that many as clients. they're lovely dogs but i wouldn't have one due to the issues and short life expectancy.
