Bernies dead

I don't know the full story yet, just that he was rushed back to vets this morning with a cut tongue, died twice while in there and owner made the decision to have him pts.

I'm gutted, he was so young. Have just spoken to his owner, the vets weren't sure what was wrong or that they would have been able to keep him alive long enough to find out. He had had enough, they got his heart going and had him breathing but he wasn't there.
He had bitten his tongue last night and it was bleeding slightly, owner assumed as we all would that it would stop and heel up, it didn't and this morning he was really poorly again. It's likely he had some kind of blood disorder. Obviously Tillys blood clotted the bleeding in his lung last week, his own blood couldn't even clot a little nick in his tongue

The vets did test his blood last week for clotting and it seemed to clot fine so its all a bit confusing. I guess we will never know but it seems he just wasn't meant to be here

Poor Bernie, he was so stunning and we needed more like him on this forum, and huge (((hugs))) to your friend, how absolutely devastating for her

I never usually get upset about dogs I dont even know, but this has made me feel really sad
