I've just been to Exmoor for 3 days with the horse and bought a rug so I could turn him out but still have dry/clean horse to tack up.

I bought a Shires tempest original waterproof fly rug.. it was a game changer !! We had torrential downpours and he stayed dry and fly free !!

He's normally 6ft 6 but in some brands occasionally 6ft 9 so I went for 6ft 9 and it fitted perfectly.PXL_20230715_093225221~2.jpg

What an interesting concept - a clean wet horse. My cob feels that the only plus point to rain is that it provides Wallowing Opportunities. The only time I have a clean wet horse is when it rains and he has a fly rug on.
Lol!! I agree, they are few and far between!! I wouldn't ride mine wet. I ride for pleasure so If he is wet I just don't ride, or if I have time I will wait til he is dry. Riding a wet horse is only like riding a sweaty one but obviously it's each to their own.
