best 100g rug?

Hi I have a ruggles 100g rug which I love and has lasted well 4 winters! is always waterproof! it does however rub the mane a tad. I have just seen a Amigo 150g rug with a free 200g liner for £99 it looks good but pondering as do I get a new ruggles or try this? does anyone have one? TIA Ruggles are cheaper about £80.

I don't have a ruggles but just brought the Amigo you mentioned, never had a problem with Amigo rugs on my Arabs

I've got x2 100g Shires turnouts one standard & one combo - they're both still going string after 5 or 6 years years despite taking a battering & being washed/proofed yearly.

I got 100gm shires tempest in a sale. It's going into its third winter and so far I cant fault it

Gallop do a good 100g rug. Inexpensive.

at any price, rambo, I have a second hand one, It's probably about 8 years old now and only not so great because my silly mother loaned my nicest rug to a horse in a ditch.

Stick with the ruggles. All mine have lasted well, the amigo removed a full cob mane.

Love my shires tempest 100g. I have the standard neck and full neck and rarely have to use anything else all winter.

I had a shires once but it leaked. It was a long time ago though!

I find Shires to be fantastic for the first year or so! I have a few light weights and when new they withstand serious rain. After a while they do start to leak and once they start that’s it!

I bought a 100g Shires Tempest a couple of weeks ago & it leaked like a sieve last week. Admittedly we had heavy rain, but I was disappointed. It had a 600 denier outer, which I wouldn’t buy again after this experience as previous rugs with higher denier outers have been more waterproof.

Have bought a couple of the Maxima 100gr rugs and they're brilliant. Kept TB dry and warm as toast in all the rain last week as out 24/7. really rate them and cheap too!

I had one but sold it! nice rug but wasn't deep enough for my boy it was more like a skirt on him!

No personally don't like them but I am a fan of Gallop rugs now

lightweight to wear

Ben's 100g PE Buster is still going strong after 6 years still waterproof and serviceable. the only reason I bought a new one this year (same type) was because I could! 6 years on and the only thing is the girth straps are becoming a little threadbare where the metal adjustment bits sit but I am going to get those replaced and keep it as a second rug. They fit nice, are lovely and deep, tough and durable and totally waterproof.
