With a fit that is going to suit a cob x Dales please! Horse is having her mane rubbed by her 100g turnout rug at the moment (All the rest have detachable necks and don’t seem to have this problem!). This is a Masta one and it fits her really nicely but it is no good if it’s going to make her bald! If anyone could recommend a 100g detachable neck turnout that suits chunkier types, that would be great! I’ve heard good things about Gallop rugs for chunkies but am reluctant to buy given that they aren’t 1200 denier.

I have 100g Ruggles with a detachable neck and it's by far the one I use the most. I know they do a heavy horse range, so I you may find something to fit.

I have the 100g gallop rugs they don't have detachable necks though and have been really happy with them they were so cheap but have never leaked and they have had plenty of use, I did recently buy a 200g John whittaker detachable neck and it's a lovely rug really pleased with it they are £59 from hope valley saddlery or buy 2 for £100 I wish I had bought one for my other horse now really lovely rugs, I know shires do 100g I have a few of there rugs and they are a good fit and they are not over priced.

just wanted to add gallop come up big my 6.3 horse takes a 6 foot in gallop rugs I always go down a size for both of mine.

I love ruggles rugs but unless you can get the size you need in their heavy horse range I think they might be a bit skimpy.

For plenty of room in the chest, extra deep and a fab roomy neck cover I have to say PE. They have a sale at the moment. Go for the ballistic nylon range the titan/buster.

I have an amigo, can't remember the exact 'model' off the top of my head but it's 1200 denier, 100g and you can buy a neck to go with it. Fits my cob x well :)

i use amigo with detachable neck and have found they fit really well and dont leak. i also have a 100g gallop with detachable neck and my only complaint is that the neck is too big for my tb cross so i assume it would be good for a heavier built horse with a bigger neck and shoulders. hasnt leaked and also has leg straps which is a bonus as my mare rolls alot and has occasionally managed to break the fillet string and got her rug off ...

PE Buster. They are heavy though but its a great rug and will do my gelding for the whole of winter. When it gets to -6 downwards I add a 100g rug liner. Expensive rug but worth every penny. Need to get the mare one.

I've got both Big Horse and Ruggles for my 2. Big Horse are definitely for proper broad chests and come up a bit big on my part bred draft. I've found the Ruggles 100g in their normal range a better fit on her.

Thanks guys! Ruggles are annoyingly out of stock in her size which is 6ft :( they don’t have a neck in her size either. Frustrating as I could do with it fairly soon!

I have a 100g Ruggles and a 50g Ruggles, the fills are very similar, i got a few people to feel the 50g and everyone agreed it felt thicker than 50g. I have amigo 30g and swish 75g and they both feel thinner than the Ruggles 50g. A big thumbs up from me they fit my big cob wonderfully.

Amigo Bravo 12 Plus 100g. Fits my big warmblood a treat (6ft 9 rug). Much better quality than the standard amigo (Hero?) and has a detachable hood. Plus you can velcro & clip in the liners to make it warmer if you want to.
