Is there an app out there for planning hacks and looking at the available routes when hacking somewhere new?
Thanks

I use viewranger as I even though you get the OS maps free when you buy the paper ones (I do prefer to do rough plan on paper as you can see a bigger area more easily) I can't get on with the OS app as much.

I use a combo of streetmap.co.uk to actually find the bridleways/little roads then onthegomap.com for distance calcs. Its one of the best ones i have found for actually picking up tracks/footpaths etc.

I prefer openstreetmap.org

I find footpaths & bridlepaths are clearer than an OS map as there's less 'other stuff' to distract (I'm talking paper version OS maps though, no experience of the app).

I didn't know you could see bridleways on the app - would you mind sharing how to see? Thank you :)

I have the paid version so bridleways appear on the OS leisure map. I think it cost £23 for a years subscription to the whole of the UK. I love it, we are avid walkers too so it has been useful for finding new footpaths. The app has a function where you can plan a route which you can save to follow later or share with someone else.
