'Best' areas to keep horses in the UK?

Aberdeenshire - lots of horses up here, loads of events to choose from every weekend. Cheaper property and land than down south (especially currently due to the oil crisis...) and loads of great hacking (you can go wherever you want up here!). Ok, I'm sure the weather is better down south but I'd take this over the traffic etc. down there!

Ooh, what a lovely surprise to come back to so many suggestions! I've had a crazy busy weekend but had a quick nosey at Ireland and some areas are super cheap - maybe there's a reason for this or is Ireland generally cheaper anyway?

With regards to horsey things, I need good hacking, would like to be <60 mins to a beach, local shows etc. I'm really not fussed about large scale events, we're not massively into anything too competitive.

Are there any good websites to house hunt on? Tried a few but they often don't have any option to narrow searches down to those with land.

Drives me nuts that so many house sale websites dont let you tick a box to search for only those with land, I mean what a simple thing! If you want to look at Aberdeenshire, the best ones up here are the ASPC (all solicitors in Aberdeen and Shire put their houses on) and the posher agents who tend to have the equestrian ones such as Savills, Strutt & Parker and Galbraiths.

Primelocation has filters - I put "acre" in on mine and yes, you do get the odd one in town with half an acre of garden but mostly they come up with the ones suitable for horsiculture

I'm in Warrington, definitely want to travel further afield! The land round here isn't great, we're down to every other day turnout but it's better than some who've had their fields closed for weeks on end :(

Thanks MagicMelon and JillA :) really helpful. Zoopla has a keyword option to refine your search but you have to start off with a set location and can only search within a 40 mile radius of that point - I want a much broader location! lol
