I'm about to fit automatic drinkers to 11 monarch indoor stables and wondered which were the best??
I know some people hate them, which is obviously their own personal experience and not really my question....I'm very happy with them and used them years ago with great success! I realise there are many more designs these days and wondered what peoples opinions were??
I'm currently looking at the Paxton 17 litre corner drinkers..... Thoughts?

I've had the plastic JFC ones in all of the 37 stables here for well over ten years and have only had one break when a big cob decided to sit on it but otherwise they have been great. Really easy to clean out and reset ball valve too. My horse has a large metal rectangular ball valve operated drinker (not sure what make) which we bought to compare with the JFC one to decide which ones to use for all of the rest. This metal one still functions very well but is now showing signs of rusting and is much more difficult to keep clean. Hope this helps. I'd use the plastic ones any day over the metal ones.

I have Paxton waterers and they are rubbish. The floats all developed holes and fill with water, so they constantly overflow. I am forever fixing them. Never again.

Mamamia is talking complete and utter rubbish. I have had ours for 15 years now without a problem. We also have the field water troughs and have had no issues with them.

I have had a plastic JFC one (big horse waited until last checks had been done then sat on it, broke it and flooded his stable big time). Other than that, fine. Replaced it with a Fisher Alvin metal one, which stood up better to being sat on but has got a bit bent over time and overflows periodically. Nothing that keeping a skip bucket underneath doesn't deal with though.
Have heard good things about the ones they nudge to make the water flow, apparently they are easier to keep clean and the horses figure out how to use them quicker than you think.
I always like to provide a bucket as well, so horse can have a deep drink.
Big horse also used to like to wait until after last checks to do a great big poo in his drinker, so having a bucket as well always makes me feel better.
Micropony is perfectly capable of using his drinker, but prefers to splash the water out into the skip bucket underneath, poo in it, kick in a few shavings and then drink that instead of the fresh clean water in his drinker and bucket. Nice.

Are you suggesting that I am lying? I have my experience, you have yours. The OP asked for opinions and I gave mine. I do not appreciate you suggesting that mine is any less valid than yours.
