well today i picked up some nice bargains at a table top sale:

Premier Equine Fleece for £10
Gallop Stable Rug for £12
Breastgirth for £15
Red Saddle Pad for £3

Now just need to find a washing machine big enough for the stable rug!!

I bought a bridle & leather headcoller the other day from derby house should have been 150 & I got them for 30 ! Pretty happy !

Im intrigued what make is it?
It's not even a specific make! If you stick "felt saddle pad" into ebay search you will find it - has a lovely little leather handle at the front (!!) and a red/white integrated girth...which I have since had removed and had proper girth straps attached by a saddler and I use an independent dressage girth now :D. I also have a Zoe Snape Shetland pad for posh days but my little £35 job has so far done an immense amount of hacking, 2 dressage competitions (placed 1st and 2nd against "big" horses :D) and gathering of wild ponies on exmoor across the most horrendous terrain at a pretty fast pace since I got it in October!!

That's a bareback pad :)

Whatever it is - it works!! At long last...no saddle slipping constantly to one side, no grumpy pony when I come into the stable with the "saddle", no twist through her pelvis and no uneven muscle build along her spine - all results in happy pony and happy owner! :D (oh and happy back lady too!)

Pair of peacock stirrups for 1.21 think they charged me the wrong price but bargain all the same oh and a barnsby double bridle - beautiful spliced head piece for 22 pounds ... Result.

£5 for some fetlock boots at a table-top sale... sewed one strap on a few times but still going strong about 12 years later...Woof Wear travel boots reduced from £70 to £35 in the sale - then when I got to the till, they were £17.50 - that was about ten years ago and I still use them. Tendon boots for about £15 at Hickstead about 12 years ago - they've been used on six horses in that time!
More importantly, Cadbury's giant buttons for £1 in Asda last week...;)

Leather dressage girth for £3, lovely quality english leather :)

My extra full double sabre bridle retailing at £220 for £50 off ebay - only used once. Beautiful bridle! :D

I think you mean bought, not brought. ;)

I bought a bitless bridle on ebay a couple of years ago. It was new, a Dr Cook copy, I was trying to address Mollie's headshaking. It was about £25 I think.

It took weeks to come, I kept enquiring and the company said they'd posted it, must be lost and sent me another. Which didn't come. Twice. :( Eventually one arrived, lovely bridle, but when I gave feedback on ebay I said I was unhappy about the delivery time.

The company emailed me and asked if they gave me my money back, would I alter my feedback? So I said yes and they put my money back in the Paypal. I changed my ebay feedback to something like, "Delivery was slow but was explained and apologized for" with which they seemed happy.

So, I got a free bridle. It helped fix the headshaking and I've been using it ever since. :)

£1000 on ebony, in my second uni year I had to move from Plymouth to Cornwall, my grandmother was ill and I took a year out, so when I returned to uni I was commuting from Redruth to Plymouth (loooong journey). I was holding down a full time managerial job and had a horse!!!

Throughout the loss of my grandmother, the stress of commuting so far and working full time in my final year, five years of hell (cheating, violence and lies) in a six year relationship, <depression because of this. Working for the NHS and going through serious inquiry because my bosses tried to scapegoat me and fighting to clear my name, my little mare was my sanity, my respite, my reason for getting up some days and facing the world, my reason for fighting back. Not to mention she was the most challenging horse I've ever known to begin with and with her, I learnt so much and became the rider and owner that I am today.

She is gone now, but the best bargain I ever bought was her. However, I do like my aldi saddlecloths too :)

Fig...

Retired from racing as a 7yo. I've had him for 2 years and yesterday he was placed top 10 at Elem and Med at a High Profile.

He was £1.1k incl £100 for livery/delivery and is now schooling Advanced.

I got a brand new weatherbetta freestyle medium turnout for £20 on ebay for my youngster. Only fitted her for one winter & then sold it for £25. :)
