Well, having had 14.3 for his pre-novice dressage twice last year, our horse Paper Tiger got 13.8 for his novice dressage at Bradwall today, with 4 x 10s. He was mega, really floated over the ground (which was very good, much better than the rock hard ground we have in the south). He had a 10 for his medium trot and for his walks, and Ruth had a 10 for her riding. He did then have 3 SJ down (his weakest phase, but fabulous clear XC, 5 times penalties, so 3rd. I am going to frame his sheet

Fantastic, you must be so thrilled with him! So lucky to have a horse with Ruth, have serious respect for her, she is such a talented rider. Where next for him?

I remember reading your post last year about his amazing dressage scores, any chance that paper tiger is the horse that they put a piccie of in H&H a while and put how Ruth thought he could make a dressage or event horse any chance

Goodness gracious!! Whatever next!!
Would love to see this horse get to four star level- I suppose one can only dream about the kind of marks that he would get!!
Just imagine a 15 pen dressage at a 4 star test!!
Will he get to advanced level eventing do you think or is he more suited to dressage?

He is doing Floors Castle in 3 weeks time - got balloted out of Chatsworth, which is a shame. I'm sure he would have loved floating around somewhere so beautiful - but Floors is nice too, and hopefully the ground in Scotland will be good.

No pictures or even a video - we are too busy watching! But he did look very 'up' in front, and he does have amazing paces as long as he is relaxed - which he was today. I think the wonderful sunshine all day helped

He is so balanced, so even his medium trot slightly downhill was good enough for a 9.... 15 is still a maga score, whenever it was!

he really loved his cross-country today - cruised round, and it is only his second novice. Who knows - they can all go lame tomorrow - so we will just enjoy it for now, and see how he gets on this seasaon at novice.

My gosh! They are marks I can only dream of! How old is he? he sounds like a very serious future pospect! Any chance of any piccies of this lad? I got a 17 once at georges first event even though I did go wrong once although I have never been able to replicate it! must have been something to do with the very hot day day and george feeling very hot and relaxed......go global warming for dressage phases is all I can say!

Oh Sarah that is FANTASTIC. Definately frame it and hang it next to his Nationals rossies. Said to Jayne I must pop over and oggle them some time, now I can come and oggle the best dressage sheet I think I will ever see.

You must be on cloud nine still. Simba is definately going to go all the way. What a brilliant boy he is.

Well done Simba & Ruth!

Gutted I won't get to Floors this year as I am being a bridesmaid. Is he doing any others up here?
