Sorry for slightly misleading title as my whippet isn't actually incontinent (as far as I know) but she has started weeing on her bed and the vet isn't sure why
She needs a well padded bed as she's a boney breed but I am getting a bit fed up of throwing bed after bed away because I can't fit them into the washer. I like her to have a large bed as both dogs like to snuggle up together in the day time and it's good if she wants to stretch out her whippety legs too!
I'm not sure whether to go for a couple of smaller, washable beds that so that I can chuck one into the machine every day or if I should get a waterproof bed and see if that stops her wetting it? The vet thinks it could have become a habit after I once left her for a few hours longer than I intended when I couldn't get home due to OH's car breaking down but unless I test out this theory I'm not sure. Whilst I don't want to encourage her to wet her bed instead of going out for a wee I also don't want her to become uncomfortable overnight if she really needs to wee but can't get out. Oddly, she's never ever whimpered or stood by the door to let me know that she wants to go out so I just send her out regularly during the day but, obviously, I don't do that all night too.
Any advice please?
