Like lots of you out there..i'm looking out my window seeing my horses slowly beginning their transformation into hairy Yaks, its taking me longer and longer to drag myself out of bed in the morning, and i'm having to get faster and faster at feeding my horses in order to get them all done before its dark..

And we all know the next thing the temperature will suddenly drop and my big wuss will be standing at the gate waiting to come in

So what is your favorite bedding? Not straw though... been hearing good things about wood pellets..

Vote & comment away, i'm sure others will be interested in the outcomes too!

I use cusionbed its similar to easybed but much cheaper especially if you collect it yourself.
I found wood pellets to be too dusty, allot of people do swear by them though, they are very absorbant, i dont do dust, makes my eyes so sore and not good for the gees either.. :-)
Ive heard that theres a straw pellet now, suposed to be better than the wood

I use LaySoft. It's great stuff. Dust free (reason I changed from straw), easy to muck out, and it doesn't shift about in the stable. Much easier than straw.

Megazorb every time (with rubber matting). I have not found another bedding that even comes close. I also use wood pellets but only because they are cheaper. When the weather freezes they cause problems due to having to dampen them and so then I use megazorb in all of the stables rather than just some.

haven't heard of megazorb..-toddles to Google- also people say once you have wetted the initial bed of pellets down they don't need more wet added?

Wood pellets- just changed a week ago and LOVE them. I don't find them dusty at all (after struggling through straw and shavings beds with me asthama)

I use a mix of wood pellets (as a base) on top on runner matting...then a nice big bed of shavings on top somi can bank it....then you get the benefits of ultra absorbent pellets, nice fluffy shavings....and rubber mats so you don't need as much of any of it.

I really like Nedzbed on rubber matting. You can easily find the poo in it and the wee soaks to the bottom so if you are lucky enough like me to have a horse that wees in the same spot every day you can find it easily and you don;t have to take much out as it is so absorbent. It's a lot cosier and fluffier than shavings and you can put it on the muckheap in the same way as straw, and it turns into proper manure that you can put on the garden. It doesn't have to be 'disposed of' like shavings. I would always use rubber matting now, it's so much better than a concrete floor.

Other - Aubiose. Absolutely love it although it's pricey, but the cheapest thing I find to have Genie on.

Titchy is on woodpellets and I also like those, but they don't work for G.

I use bark peelings, wonderful stuff!

It is far more absorbent than shavings or pellets, dust free, easy to muck out and never smells.

Best of all, it is cheaper than most other bedding.

Wood pellets every time! They are cheap, super fast to muck out, no waste so tiny muck heap, super absorbant and rot down quickly!

What more can I say!

I use rapport. My horse is a box walking messy monster who trashes her bed most nights.I only need 1 bag a week as opposed to 2 or more of shavings so it works out cheaper as well as being totally dust free.
