Having been to a horse demo day today & been bombarded with feed/chaff/balancer info I have settled on Dengie Hi-Lite but still can't decide which supplement to choose.

What do you use. How many scoops and why?

Thanks.

I'm also feeding equimins advance complete, have 6 horses on it now and really pleased with it but I put it in a base of fast fibre and linseed. I won't use hi fi lite as it contains molasses

I think my horse may be immune to the benefits of equimins advanced.

I'm on my second bit tub and honestly can't say I've noticed any real difference in him.

I'll be switching to something like equimins tip top or similar. He also gets linseed which I do think makes a difference.

Top Spec Stud - my mare is in foal and is a very good doer so didn't want to put her on a stud mix, have always used happy hoof and pink powder but having a baby on board I wanted to be certian she was getting everything she needed.
What I did was contact all the feed companies and request a detailed breakdown of the products - exactly what vitamins, minerals etc were in them and the levels - interestingly baileys are the only one who list these on their website (at least for stud balancers) but once I had the full lists from everyone it was obvious that the top spec had way more in it, for example the top spec has biotin in it which the baileys doesn't.
I would recommend a similar approach for yourself - all the feed companies, including the supplements people if you don't want a balancer, have help lines. Phone them and ask for the literature stating you want a detailed breakdown and go with the one which has everything you want and need for your horse in it.

If you just want brand recommendations then I really like NAF products, have always found them good quality and am really liking the top spec balancer.

Hi did you go to Plumpton today ?
I have just put my lot on to Top Spec senior , 23 yo 22 yo and 14 yo all still in full work , i wanted something with all the vits and joint stuff and this seemed the best one .

Yes I went to Plumpton but wasnt overly impressed with any of it.

Regarding the feed...I wanted to buy the NAF slimline supp but 3 x of trying and noone there so I took the Top Spec allinone to pay for it & stopped when I saw all my card info inc. Security code being written into a carbon book.

Came home empty handed!!

Wanted to go to Plumpton but had a family thing but did think it was a bit pricey.
I can get my local feed merchant to order Top Spec for me at less than on there web site .
