My boy is very stressy & anxious-both naturally & throuh fear. Its been suggested i use rescue remedy on us before we ride & put him on.a calmer (was on.mollichaff calmer before i got him). He has 1scoop just grass am & pm & il be adding a balancer or something to that soon.

So what would everyone say is the best horse calmer I know magnesiums supposed to be good? But only if horse is lacking it?

Where can you get it from? Other good calmers & cheapest suppliers please as they're sooo expensive!

Thanks :)

Oh, hate the molichaff calmer. Full of so much sugar in my opinion and does no good what so ever! (Just a personal thing though)
I have heard good about Magic, as a supplement it's made by NAF, but I also think the herbal route is fabulous!

Doing some aromathearpy with you horse could also be beneficial, a horse I knew who was also excitable and got quite anxious - the aromathearpy once a week along with a basic feed. Vits and Mins, nothing with high sugar etc in it.
It worked wonders for him. Alot more calm, relaxed and just a happier horse in general. -Also smells gorgeous.. the garlic oil would blow your mind!

Hi, my friend has used with success the top spec calmer (sorry dont know if it has a particular name) and subsequently a few other people have used it on her recommendation and I havent heard a bad word about it from them either.

May be worth a try?

Nupafeed is magnesium-had excellent results with my forester.
also used magic liquid for a while, seemed to do the trick for a while, and isn't just magnesium like nupfeed.

:)

I recommend RelaxMe - by FirstHorse - it's not cheap, but it works. I have heard good reviews by so many for this one. No point in buying a cheap one if it doesn't work.

You could try Magnesium Oxide on it's own as a supplement and see if your horse is deficient, but calmers lie RelaxMe have other ingredients too.

Soak a rag in lavender and neroli oils and you can hang this in your horse's stable - offer him it to sniff. You can rub on your hands too. This works well as a calmer too.

I use Topspec's Calmer for my boy and it's worked wonders on him - it's the only calmer I've tried (and I tried a lot before this!) which chills him out without turning him into a donkey and making him dopey, which I found a lot of them did. He's naturally very nervous spooky but with this is a million times better. Highly recommend it!

Top spec Calmer is absolutely brilliant!

Takes 'the edge' off my event horse so he can hold it together during dressage especially.

I never used to be able to get him to relaxed and over his back before if he'd had one little buck or spook and now he is soo much more focussed and chilled.

:) :)
