Who does everyone else use?

Need to find someone other than royal mail to post a couple of heavy rugs as £25 seems a bit steep from RM.

Thanks.

I used myhermes to send one last week and can't fault them. Think it cost me about £7 and that was with a signature at the other end and insured for it's price.

I've got a couple of rugs for sale on eBay ATM and was going to use the parcel2go website to find a courier for mine. Mind you, the cheapest quoted on there was DHL but they wanted a £10 collection surcharge on top (what ever that is for). So, the very reasonable quote of £4.99 + VAT, turned into a cost of £14.99+. Hmmmm

Ooooh, looked them up because you mentioned them and found this Review. Rather mixed opinions to say the very least.

Mind you, I expect it's predominantly irate customers who bother to leave review comments about a service they've had, so who's to really tell whether this is fair or not? There may be another 10,000 very happy customers out there who've just not bothered to post!

I also use My Hermes and have never had any issues. the customer once gave me the wrong address and my hermes contacted me about this before the customer complained!
Drop off to local store option makes it cheaper as well.

I use www.parcelmonkey.co.uk who are like brokers for couriers - they use City Link, parcelforce or Nightfreight depending on the service you want, the size and the weight of the parce never had a problem with them

I have had deliveries from myhermes and I would never use them to send stuff - they are very cheap but you pay for that in service. The last 2 items i hadfeom them took 10-14 days to arrive and the packaging was mashed when it arrived. Same complaint about Yodel too who also advertise cheap courier service. .

I shipped 2 rugs in one parcel, one light weight, one middle weight with parcel monkey about 3 weeks ago. They uaed City Link next day tracked and signed for..... £9.32

Always use Citylink, they are very reasonable, you can track the parcel online and the POD shows up as soon as they sign for it. Also if the person isn't in to sign for it they take a photo of their front door or the place they tried delivering it to to prove they attempted delivery.

Or collectplus hand them into a local shop and deliver quickly. Started using them after problems with My Hermes collecting, have worked out cheaper and not had any problems

A friend sends parcels my MyHermes, its cheap and cheerful but he has known it to take up to ten days for something to be delivered

I send parcels via my employers account with DPD which is around a fiver then I pay the company back - I dont suppose you could do something similar with your employer?

Another vote for myhermes. I have never had a bad experience with them. They are abit cheaper too if you find a local delivery shop too.

I was horrified recently at Royal Mail price when I wanted to return some unwanted boots to mail order firm.
I looked at the Money Saving Expert website on this subject for good objective advice . Then used My Hermes drop off at local newsagent.
