Best clipper oil

As in the title, what's everyone's found the best clipper oil to use? Or anything else that can be used instead of horse shop clipper oil?

Blades are being sharpened tomorrow and in need of more oil. Now to try and find the charger to the battery pack as well :o
 
Only one Lister R15 oil or Clippersharp Oil with bactericidal additive. Avoid aerosols at all cost. I always say, why dont clipper manufacturers supply aerosol oil? The answer is because it is inferior. The other warning is WD40. Never use it kills machines. Likewise never dip blades/head in kerosene/blade wash etc
 
I bought Gold Label clipper oil as was the only thing my local shop had. I am convinced it has ruined my clippers. avoid that one at all costs! smells strongly of diesel which can't be good.
I used to use a liveryman one but couldn't get it last time. Will try the lister one mentioned above next time (once clippers have been repaired. ...)
 
If you check, I believe they now supply "non aerosol oil" with their machines. The idea of aerosols is good and they are less messy,but the problem often lies in the fact that the aerosol is made up of a certain amount of propellent which thins the oil down. When you spray it under pressure, it "washes" out heavier grease in the bearings and dries them out. You get an initial speed increase, then the heat makes the thinner oil evaporate quickly. Bottle R15 or similar does not evaporate as quickly and coats the cutting faces with a "cushion" of oil which helps reduce friction and stay clean.
 
Bum :( No way will I get new oil delivered before the weekend. Hubby will be gutted I can't clip his hairy bear.

I use the big bottles of Lister oil. I get through 1 every few weeks at this time of year. I have a can of Wolsey as a back up as I can get that fro the local shop but the bottles I have to order online.

If you are utterly desperate to clip a good dose of baby oil also works ... :X But that didn't come from someone who has tried, tested and found it not to be the worst when you have no other option ... :X

My wolseys heat up appallingly anyway so I guess I should get the best stuff.

All I can get locally is wolsey aerosol or 3 in 1 oil from hardware shop.

Hubby has found the lister one on amazon. 7.50 plus post.
