I'm sure this has been asked before, but could I ask opinions please. Need to buy myself a set of clippers, 1 TB, probably going to need 3-4 clips a year, trace/chaser clip I think. He does seem to be growing quite a woolly coat. I am thinking probably the Liveryman Harmony battery powered ones. What are your experiences of these please and does anyone have any other preference. Would appreciate advice and comments.

I bought some masterclip ones off ebay after a recommendation on here by someone. A pro clipped my horse on friday, and said they were a good set. Powered by mains, only cost £125 brand new!!!

I just bought some Moser Avalon cordless clippers and done one full clip with them so far - they're great! They're only suitable for fine coated horses but I did my whole horse in under one hour and the blades didn't get hot at all. The battery lasts 3 hours apparently but i didn't need them for that long (thankfully!)
Think they were about £190

I have the Moser Avalon cordless clippers as well. I used them on my CB on the weekend and they cut really well and he is quite hairy at the moment.

They are also really quiet and lightweight - I got mine for about £172 with one blade and a second blade for £17.50 so quite cheap. Think the livery harmony ones are cheaper, but when I was looking I think the Avalons were considered more powerful.

Another vote for the Whal Avalon, the only ones I can put anywhere near to Donks - who is a 16.2 CB with a very large furry belly!
