Best clippers for a full clip on a nervous warmblood...?

As title...

Need to buy my own clippers and i have no idea what's best! One of my horses is very nervous so something quiet would be good and cordless is a bonus but not a must! Both horses are Warmbloods and don't get very hairy! I would be doing a full clip on both and don't want to have to keep stopping and starting if clippers get too hot or run out of battery!

The cheaper the better but I would rather spend a bit more for ones that I know are good and durable!

Can't advice on clippers, but a little to help with the noise. Clipped a nervous pony last week, thought it may be the sound he didn't like. Stuffed his ears with a rolled up bandage (didn't want to lose anything in his ear) hey presto one happy easy to clip chap.
 
Hi RJW, take a look at Masterclip - they've got a website. I have their "Royale" clippers - Masterclip call them "Medium Duty" but I feel they are more like trimmers with full size clipping blades. I bought them for the same reason as you - ie nervous horse - he used to have to have IV sedation, then I changed to the Dormosedan gel, but with the Royale clippers he doesn't need any sedation at all. And, they are only £99.99!

My horse is WBxTB 16.1hh and I fully clip him out. OK, it does take quite a bit longer than with heavy duty clippers, but as long as you're prepared for that and you take your time, you'll be fine with them. They are very quiet anyway, but you can also switch them to "slow" which makes them even quieter and I can now clip half his face - ie. up to his bridle cheek pieces.

I'm really pleased with them - I reckon that with saving on all the vets visits, and then paying for him to be clipped, they have paid for themselves around four times times already!
 
I have Masterclip Roamers which are battery operated. They are heavy duty, but are not particularly loud. They are only £199 brand new, with 2 batteries, 2 sets of blades and a battery charger. I did a full clip on my terribly hairy Haflinger and a bib on my even hairier NF on one charge. I didn't find they got hot at all, were light and well balanced and my very nervous Haffy accepted them quite happily.
 
I've got Wahl Avalons. Neddy is terrified of big clippers but stands fine for these. They're obviously not as robust as the bigger sets but have worked out fine for what I need and they're lovely and quiet, with no scary monster cable to worry about.
 
I use liveryman harmony plus clippers to hunter clip my warmblood. They do a nice job but aren't the quickest. However I can do her with out sedation or too much fuss which wasn't possible with bigger clippers. My YO has a pair which she uses for her youngster and a nervous pony but she can't do her welsh A with them.
 
We use Lister Star Clippers, they aren't too loud, and are very quick & leave a neat finish. We use them on one of our ponies who have a very thick coat, for full clips, and they worked very well, and on my mare who has a reasonably thick coat for hunter clips.
 
I use Heiniger Xplorer clippers, can highly recommend them. I wasted £140 on Heiniger rip off imitation cordless clippers, came with 2 sets of blades and a "free" spare battery. They died, 2 mins into my clip. Lesson learned! Buy quality, you get quality.
