I currently use the Heineger Xplorers as I do like cordless and i've had these a couple of years but they don't seem to give the best/smoothest clip (i know tension is super hard to get right on these). Last time I did an Irish clip on a fidgety horse and took about an hour with half a head but then my battery was flat when i went to trim his legs the next day! I want to clip him out fully next time and worried these won't be enough and battery wont last and wondering about changing clippers altogether. I prefer cordless as it's easier but not adverse to going back to mains.

I clip my 15.2 4-5 times a winter and his legs/feathers regularly through the summer and then i clip my Dartmoor 2-3 times through the winter so need something that will be enough for this.

Mine has just been serviced and blades sharpened.

I like the masterclip HD roamers, I find them easy enough to tension and with a spare battery (which was supplied when I bought them) I can do 2x blanket clips easily (although on ponies, not big horses!).
They're loud, but that's about all the fault I can find with them- although I've not used other clippers to compare.

I have the heineger progress (corded) which are now 17yrs old and still going strong, clipping cobs and Shetlands several times a year. I really rate them as a company.
New baby horse is getting really good with clippers but has a bit of a fear of the cord, so I have just purchased the heineger opal. Used them for the first time on his legs yesterday and they sailed through his bog brush fur (was clipped with small trimmers about 4 weeks ago, so not full length but very thick).
I found a decent deal on farm care so they came with two sets of blades, and two batteries with a really long battery life. The blades are also clip on, so no need for tensioning, and the do a whole range of blades, in different widths as well, so I've got narrower ones for his legs, and wider ones for his body.
Obviously no idea how they will stand up long term, but being heineger I am hopeful 🤞

Ooh I'm going to look at these! I've just got the Liveryman Harmony for trimming but these sound good!

I've got corded progress that are ancient as well and still going strong they are brilliant clippers I've used a few other makes in the past and I don't think any of them compared to them.
