best coat to keep spaniel clean?

It's that time of year when wherever I walk Reggie he comes back filthy, I've trimmed tummy and leg fur, though still more to do and used a jacket from our previous dog, but he's still coming home with mud all over his legs and bits the jacket doesn't cover, can anyone recommend a coat that covers as much as possible, and please roll on spring
 
Equafleece with 4 full legs. You’ll probably need a few so you can wash them as they become disgusting.

Sadly the Hooligan really didn’t like wearing his so gave up in the end and he just gets bathed nearly every day!
 
equafleece! rory used to have the full suit but outgrew it, i’ve just bought him a rydale huggate which has the front 2 legs - does the job for him because he’s a poodle with an aversion to dirt and mud, but for a spaniel i’d probably opt for the equafleece as it’s got the 4 legs and the measurements are exact so it’s a properly snug fit. the rydale one was £11 in the sale though so maybe worth a try/having as a backup!🤣

they’re expensive but they do come up on ebay/vinted, and there’s a couple of facebook groups for them also.
 
Another vote for equafleece, we have 2 one hi viz yellow that pulls on then another which hasa zip up the back, i put them on a rinse and spin amd they come out pretty bone dry. They last forever, just make sure spaniel isnt going near water as they arevsry havy when wet and i am not sure my older dog would be able to swim in one.
 
Coming on to add that Equafleece also do a lightweight full body summer suit - probably great for dogs who get a bit hot. One of my agility trainers posted a great photo of her Shelties in theirs just yesterday, little skinny bodies with big fluffy ruffs!
 
Yup Equafleece are amazing. Megs literally worn her out after six years of hard wear. I’ve just taken it apart to have a go at making a replica luckily she has a spare too.
 
Equafleece - there's plenty available second hand. They have a fitting/measuring guide on their website.

True. Although mine aren’t thrilled with the hose. I generally leave them in coats to dry, although one has Teflon fur and is usually spotless within an hour. The other one gets the hairdryer which horrifies him.
 
I don't use the equafleeces often for keeping clean but I've never had any issue with the getting excessively wet or heavy even on the terriers on the bog. They're also what we use to get the dogs into shows clean.

Hurrta do 4 leg rain suits which might be useful.
 
I found they’re ok for general mud and wet from rain but they don’t stand up well to paddling / swimming in streams and rivers (another reason the Hooligan now has the short legged version as he does love a paddle)
 
The difference in filth is insane if it's not actually raining and one dog is being lead walked due to splitting a pad, minor, but clearly sore, bless him. Teflon dog positively sparkling getting back in the car, filth meister only had muddy paws. Bliss!
