What do people think is the best conditioning feed?

My 5yr old is on Biocare & Topspec Conditioning Cubes & Corn oil. He looks well but is working quite hard now and i would like him to be a little rounder!

umm i like baileys No4 conditioning cubes and also had my boy on calm and condition before but u do have to feed quite a lot if they in hard work!!!

i now feed Balieys No 4 and a hi-fi nuts together.

Baileys Conditioning Cubes. i've never had a feed make such a difference so quickly, without sending them loopy. very very impressive.

Does it really not send them ape?

Hi

I have tried various feed combinatons with my TB x ID Mare and the feed that does not send her into space is the Top Spec Range. She is on the Feed Balancer and the Conditioning Flakes and she looks so good on it. I have noticed a huge transformation in her condition and at the age of 20 she still acts 4.

Another vote for Calm and Condition - definately very good!!!

i have tried all the other feeds (except top spec) suggested and they dont work for my mare so i am going to try her on the Top Spec CoolCondition cubes but it depend on your horse and if it goes crazy but i would try Thirds if you can get it its like a powder that you soak it work brilliantly on my old loan pony who was 26 and it has nothing in it that could send them crazy

Alpha A Oil is great, a bag last me about a month and I have better results on that then when I was on No4 and going through a bag a week

I guess from everything everyone's written it is horses for courses and somethings will work better than others. Think i might try No 4 and see how he gets on with that.

Thanks!

i feed mollie calm and condition as she didnt winter v well but remained fit throughout, then i had my accident and she lost it all v quickly. we have her on allen and page calm and condition... does exactly what it says on the tin but we are finding that now she is in work, we are having to feed more of it.

i have to be careful what i feed my mare as she is rather neurotic at times!!! baileys no 16 has been recc to me but i think i will be trying top spec first x

Worth noting Baileys No 4 does send my TB loopy, however Spillers conditioning cubes don't so he's now on those. As you said it's working out what suits your horse and whilst I recommend Baileys I'm now aware that they do heat some up!

Baileys Number 4 fan.

Feed lots for condition and then cut back to maintain.

Also good if your horse is prone to Laminitis, seemingly, according to Baileys, it's easier to digest than mix.

I also feed Dodson & Horrell Safe & Sound, the most marvelous chaff I've come across, no need for suppliments.

At age 19, my mare looks better than she ever has.

It may be expensive to feed "good stuff" but it is defiantely worth it!
