I need a new pair of boots now that my Dublin Valley ones have given up the ghost. Just want a pair that I can ride in, do occasional yard jobs, and wear to walk the dog etc. Don't want Dubarrys, find they drop too much - would much prefer something with a zip rather than pull on. Looking at the Ariats, and the Mountain Horse versions. Any recommendations?

I am very cross with my mountain horse boots as i find the zips break (and i got them mended and one broke again thismorning) so am not bothering with them anymore, though maybe that's just me....!!! Ariat?!

I have ditched all other makes in favour of Ariats. I have the brown Grassmere and the black Glacier that I live in, the Bromonts for shows and have just got the Telluride for when I don't need long boots. They are expensive but worth it as they seem to last for ever however abused they get and are so comfy, never need breaking in. :)
