I am after a leather dressage girth that is shaped around elbows and curves forward in between - same shape as fairfax, which I am hoping will come on co buy soon, but failing that need one of similar shape with no elastic. So far found WOW and passier do one - any others?

Prestige do one that is almost exactly the same as the Fairfax one (and unfortunately almost the same price too). Nice girth 'tho.

Doesn't have to be, but would prefer a leather one. Mustn't be elasticated though - the tekna one is elasticated isn't it?

Purpose of a girth this shape is to help with saddle that slips forward. My girthing arrangement is yet to be altered (wow saddle - on the hunt for a foregirth). Hoping this will help as don't want to have to go for a h girth

I have a Prestige anatomic (actually have a spare one as someone ordered the wrong size, oops) and my horse loves it. It stopped the rubbing issues we'd had with other girths. It does have elastic on the inside but you wouldn't notice tbh.

I had an Albion and loved it, but the curve is nowhere near as dramatic enough. Need to to curve towards his very forward girth groove, not just cut away from elbows.

Passier looks to be best for this problem - anyone had one?

I have a passier one for sale that has been tried on the horse but never actually used, still has tags and everything on it. I was hoping it would solve my saddle slipping issue which I thought was down to an overly forward girth groove but turned out to be a saddle issue which is why I have gone back to my similar shaped albion. Pm me if your interested, it's sitting under my stairs at the moment. I'm sure sol on here uses one as I was asking some questions to her before I bought mine :)

hey zoon, i have one, it works and its a nice girth but I would agree with worried1 that it needs a bit of oil/balm at first to soften it up a bit as its quite rigid. I think there is an almost identical prestige one available.

Prestige Anatomic girth is the nearest to a Fairfax.

I have one sitting in my tack room as I now have the Fairfax.

Sorry to say it but this is normally the case - I fit natives and cobs as a speciality which are notorious for forward slipping saddles and I've not needed a curved girth yet. I also strongly believe that a well fitting saddle should have elastic at both ends or in the centre - much kinder to the horse and does not have a moment of slack when the ribcage contracts. I think many fixed girths are overtightened to prevent slippage, I see the muscle damage from them.

We had one made for my sister's Wow - she has a flat backed, high withered, shoulder less, barrel bellied welsh with a forward girth groove. The wow was literally the only "off the peg" (if you can call a wow that!) saddle we could get to fit and we were not going to spend £££ on a m2m saddle for a 4yr old welshy with lots of growing to do!

Anyway, I digress! We had one made, partly as he needed a 16-18" girth which are almost impossible to find, we wanted slightly wider set buckles (I think there are 4" between their centres) as this helps with the back girth strap, it had to be padded and it had to be forward curved... Our saddler was fab, did us prototypes to get it right and then when we were happy with shape etc made it all nicely padded etc for us. Cost £60 or £70 from memory!!! She will also do sheepskin covers to fit. My sisters saddle now, coupled with a foregirth, is now a beautifully stable saddle that stays where it should be, fits pony and rider really well and both are happy and comfortable!

Will try and upload a pic...
