I am wanting to purchase tickets for Royal Ascot but not sure which day to opt for. I am buying them as a present for my mum and dad (but for my mums 65th birthday) so I am wanting a day focussed on the racing and not drinking! They will not want to be around drunk people attending corporate events or women in hats falling down.

So advice please, which day would be best?

Ta.

Would you consider somewhere else perhaps? If its a treat for your parents how about Goodwood, lovely place and you can get a good package for the restaurant or Newmarket? They are my favourite courses for a day of racing with my husband. I love Ascot, Royal or not but I would say all the days are very similar during Royal Ascot and they don't seem to be what you are after.

Kinda was planning on Royal Ascot coz she has always wanted to go but never got round to it. She has been to Goodwood and Newmarket as she used to have part ownership of a racehorse years and years ago.

I know she has always wanted to go on Ladies Day but I have been told its become a bit of a party atmosphere and less about the racing.

Help please - what shall I do?

If its what she wants then just go for it, it can be as much about the racing as they make it- but yep there are a lot of sights to be seen but it's all part of the fun lol. My parents would go every day of royal week and they are very into their racing but would normaly be in a box but not always and they always had fun! I have been sometimes and not even seen a horse, but did meet my hubby there hmm! For what your describing the saturday would probably be best but if your mum wants to go on ladies day then just go for that and I'm sure they will have a great time!
