I'm looking at getting a defibrillator for my yard and the business units that are on the farm. Does anyone here have one? If so what and why did you choose it?

No advice on the actual make, but you could consider how long the pads last and their replacement cost (upwards of £200 a set). You may find you can get a grant for the full purchase cost if you make it publically available and register it in the Circuit.

There is a charity that supplies defibrillators if you make it a public one, and you raise a certain amount for them. It could just be a local thing, I suppose. And I can’t remember its name, sorry!

I'm no help really but my Mum had one installed in a local (to her work) pub as part of a community fundraising project. They raised the money from recycling bottle tops.

A friend in the fire brigade was saying that they are only really a good idea if you have the resources and manpower committed to their long term care & maintenance.
Many in public place, like the village phone box, aren't maintained and may not be any good in an emergency, unfortunately.

That’s an interesting point. I work fo a parish council - I think we own or at least care for seven defibs, but I’m not sure if any of them have our contact details on them. Defibs do go missing, sometimes when they’ve been used and I guess scooped up by emergency workers - a label would help a lot.
OP - have you checked where your nearest defib is - no point in doubling up.

We have one - ours is a Zoll one, mostly chosen because that’s the brand OH was familiar with from work.
