Best earmuffs & fleecy warm gloves

After riding in -8 degrees this morning and finding my ears felt as though they might snap off, I thought I'd ask Father Christmas for some ear muffs that you wear under your hat. But Father Christmas is a bit vacant in our house so needs to be told which ones to get!! Any thoughts?

Also some nice fleecy lined but waterproof gloves that you can ride in?
And some really warm socks - can you get heated socks?

I can thoroughly recommend to anyone a Thermatex waistcoat. I bought one for hunting and have been wearing it non stop since the frost started. It is lovely and warm and now I totally understand why Thermatex's are the best thing for horses. Its not bulky at all - love it!!

I've got some ear muffs from Gibson's saddlers, they clip onto my hat harness and keep my ears toasty warm!

I get Raynaud (white dead fingers!) quite easily. My fav gloves I've found so far are Mark Todds winter gloves with thinsulate lining, just under £20. They're water resistant I'd say, fine out in rain when riding, not if you dunk em in the water bucket. I can still do up buckles, 'feel' reins etc but the tough outer and fleecy lining really helps keep my fingers from dying in the winter so I have several pairs!

Interested to hear any others that are good too.

There are some nice riding helmet earmuffs on ebay that clip to the harness on your hat, not too expensive and come in lots of colours (and tweed!)

I've got some of the fleecy ear muffs off eBay
They velcro onto my hats harness
Fit really well and are toasty warm for my ears
Love them for winter riding

I also bought a woolly balaclava from a £ shop , it's got a peak and a zip up the front , it's quite stretchy so fits over my riding hat then I zip it up so it keeps my ears and neck warm if weather really bad
