Best feed balancer?

I have been suggested to put ob on a balancer cause he gets crazy on just a little bit of feed and the little bit that he is getting, doesnt contain ALL the vitaims etc he needs in it, so was just wondered what balancer do you use/have used

Top spec I feed their comprehensive one, as my horse is in hard work, hunting, but there is a leisure and a light one as well, that may suit yours as well. Give their helpline a ring.

It depends on the horse. I like Top Spec as a first choice as well, for horses that aren't good doers. For the latter Baileys LoCal seems to be a good option. What is making your horse craxy is probably starch - search on here and on the web for info on low starch feeding.

At the moment Im using a Spillers balancer, but I've also used Topspec, both are good.

As others have said ring up their helplines, they're very helpful and will beable to point you in the right direction of the best feed for your horse.

I rate Bailey's Lo Cal. I started using it at the beginning of the year and am really impressed so far.

I've had my lad on Frickers Lo-Cal balancer for the last few months and it's flipping amazing stuff!!!! His coat is GLEAMING, he's behaviour (well not when hunting but generally) is faultless and it's costing me less than half what I was paying!!! £15 for 15kg bag which lasts me 5/6 weeks!! Not sure if it's available countrywide but I certainly recommend trying it if you can get hold of it.

For Frickers???? We get ours delivered straight from the man himself cos it's not that far from us. TBH even if I paid £23 I'd still be happy with it, it's alot cheaper than what I was feeding.

There is one of them that is quite high in protien = bad for fizzy & liver - but I can't remember which so I am no help at all

I tried blue clip for a couple of mine and it sent them loopy. They have now been on baileys lo cal for over a year and i swear by it. I even have my foals on their stud balancer.

They are really helpfull over the phone and give loads of advice

Mine is on the TopSpec Comprehensive as is on box rest and that is literally all he gets, a mugful twice a day (and lots of hay) keeping excitable food to a minimum, but want to give him everything he needs to make sure he fixes!

Thanks alot guys, hes competing but only upto 1m/05 atm and schooling upto 1.20 ish at home and just simple school and hacking with 1 day off a week getting no feed but still crazy i dont know where he gets the energy from

Baileys lo cal for my TB in medium work. He looks a picture on it as as it's low in starch and sugar there is no bad behaviour .
