Best feed for a 2 yr old????

Can anyone recommend what the best feed is for a 2 yr old german warmblood??? I ve been told that saracen level grow is really good but its expensive......any advice greatly recieved!!!! thanks

Hi I fed Dodson and Horrell Suregrow (about£10) which was great for my Anglo. But as always the best people to ask are the nutritionists. I've always found D&H to be very prompt and helpful. One thing everybody says including the vets is DO NOT overfeed babies. To much weight on their young joints can cause problems.

I fed mine calm and condition over the winter of his 2yr old year. This was recommended to me by the nutritionists and worked a treat..

Personally i would just feed a 2yr old very simply, but thats just me, i am a bit more old school, there were very few feeds about when we had lots of youngsters years ago, they all did well.
If i were to feed a youngster now, i would just go for a nice all round chaff based feed personally if the horse was of average/good general health and weight

Good quality haylage adlib and a vitamin lick - that is all unless you want OCD!

spillers yougstock mix got all the right nutrients for your horse to grow at proper rate so it grows to be healthy and fit!
