Mare's feet have suddenly become quite dry and flaky, she doesn't have the most brilliant feet anyway so was considering prior to this to introduce something into her feed.

But what is the best feed/supplement for improving hoof condition? Biotin/farriers formula added in etc or other?

Thanks in advance and marmite on toast to someone who has the answer! :)

Farriers Formula took M's feet from pretty crumbly to good, solid hoof but he's very slow growing, so it took over a year.

Other products may have worked just as well, but I'm not going to risk swapping now, just in case!

I get mine from Supplement Solutions - cheaper than the tack shop and very efficient to deal with - rarely wait more than 48 hours from ordering to delivery plus they have some good offers on things like flysprays etc.

Thanks Mrs B, I have fed farriers formula in the past as was happy enough with it - but that was like almost a decade ago (can't believe I'm finally old enough to say that!) and wondering if there were any other good ones :)

Thanks for the tip - I will check them out now!

i swear by formula 4 feet as my mares feet were br4eaking up really badly when we had a hot summer(some time ago!!!!) and i started with f4f and have kept her on it as her feet improved so much and my even my farrier mentioned how good her feet had become....:D:D

formula4feet is recomended by laminitic society,

equimins laminator and hoof mender are money back guarentee

cant ask for better:D:D

livery used farriers formula for a ehile but after a year of using it stoped working.

I'm currently using Formula4Feet with my laminitic, I think it's helping but not sure if that's wishful thinking on my part as my farrier says it will takes up to a year to see the results (I've been using it for about 3 months now)

Farriers Formula + Good farrier

I have had my boys on it for many years now. When I tried to change to another product I got a lot of grief with poor horn quality down the line. These things always take time to show up then sort out if you change from what is working.

In addition, I have also taken off shoes on one of my horses for approx two to three months over the winter when he was lightly ridden. When ridden he was mainly used in a school or with occasional hacks in old macs. Plus with all the snow we had the last two years, it was well worth it.
