I'm desperate to go out British Eventing this year on a Ticket, and I wondered your views on the best First BE courses to do - preferably in Scotland!! I've SJ'd up to Newcomers but my horses is quite spooky at new things...
Thanks!!!

Where in Scotland are you? My first run was aswanley which is lovely but late in the season. . Burgie are running a be80. We are further north so don't have much options with out heading down the a9.

depends on what level?

have you done some xc schooling?

if BE80 you are pretty limited but drumclog and hutton would be good (cant think of others)

BE90
Central Scotland are running an unaffiliated fundraiser at Gleneagles (hunter trial) on 15th June
Hutton in the forest (penrith) is on the RHS weekend - has good tracks
Hopetoun the week after but I wouldn't do that as a first one
Eden valley have lovely BE80,90 and 100 in penrith 6th July weekend. Also same weekend there is Burgie which is up north

We've been XC schooling round Auchlishie, Strathearn, Glenfarg etc... I'd probably start at BE90 - I heard Hopetoun have a nice BE80t course...

Yeh, I heard about the fundraiser, which I should be doing hopefully, I love Gleneagles! Hadn't thought of Hutton!!!

Thanks!
