Can anyone recommend good fly boots? My girl is stamping so much I want to get some. Shires Arma boots look decent and come in set of 4 which is handy. I like the look of the Premier Equine but on,y get 2 in a pack… thanks. Any recommendations?

My old horse had vasculitis. I used the shires ones. He wore and wore them. They were cheap, easy to fit and wash and did the job.
I once bought Rambo ones, they have a bit of wire up the back of the leg to hold them upright, it had the reverse effect on my horse, it bent and dug into his tendon rubbing a raw patch on the first nights use. Sent them back and the replacements did the same to I stuck to the Shires ones

Ah great ? thank you do they hold up ok and how are they for sizing? I have a fine built TB

I have full size boots and they are ok on both my 16hh TB and 15.3hh Irish Draught. The back boots are slightly larger than the front. The only time I've noticed them slip down is after the horses have been clipped and there's no fur to hold them up, if that makes sense. But my mare is quite chunky for a TB so you may find the cob/ medium size more suitable?

Got PE, and le mieux, PE come up large but plenty to wrap round, check the size charts, PE warn 24/7, keeps legs cool in hottest temps and keeps the sun off

My horse wears the Premier Equine ones 24/7 in warm weather. She is terribly reactive to flies and they are a life saver. They don’t overheat, and they stay in place. I can’t fault them.

I bought a pair of Lemieux Gladiator Mesh ones a few weeks ago, and they are far and away the best fly boots I've tried (and I've tried a lot!) They have a soft quilted bamboo lining, and his legs are lovely and cool underneath them. All the ones I've tried with stiffening to help them stay up have rubbed him, and the ones without stiffening end up round his pasterns. He has to wear something, due to skinning the front of his fetlocks when he gets down to roll/sleep.
