Best fly mask for an itchy pony

Which fly masks does everyone use? Ideally that offer the best protection and aren’t likely to be pulled over their eyes. Do you all wear masks when their in the stables too?thanks for any advice

I like Shires deluxe ones, they are reasonably priced and a bit stiffer to stand away from the eyes. They come in lots of variations, ears no ears, nose no nose etc.
I did just buy a Rambo bee keeper type though and really love that.
I take them off in the stable.

The Rambo bee keeper style as the design makes it harder for them to rub. I've tried other styles and within a few days my pony has rubbed the mesh and made a hole. They also last well. Hope Valley has them at half price at the moment.

I have long liked these as hard to get off and hard wearing. Current horse in about 3 days managed to rub bald patches under his chin where the strap goes!

Are you looking to use it to help prevent itching or for protection from the flies? I've never found I've needed to use a fly mask in the stable for fly protection.

I'm another vote for the rambo beekeeper ones. I've known a couple of horses where they're the only ones they'll wear and they're very good for staying away from the eyes.

Is it definitely sweet itch and the midges that are making her itch? I had one that would itch it's face due to too much sugar. I reduced the sugar in his diet (including get rid of carrots etc.) and he stopped itching again.

I used to be an advocate for the Rambo 'beekeeper' style mask, but, the new princess ? has managed to get hers off every single day and it's not too big for her.

I am now trying one of the lycra Weatherbeeta style masks, hoping she cannot remove that so easily!
