Best fly mask?

Its that time of year again and I need a new fly mask for my new forest pony. The ones he worse last year were too tight or soft around the eyes and seems to squish in and rub his eyelids and just above his eyes, even though it allowed plenty of room. He has buggy eyes bless him so think he needs something with firm eye space? I have seen Rambo ones that have a sort of visor around the edge but are quite pricey? anyone got any suggestions or if the Rambo ones are worth the price??
 
Hi, we had a pony with uveitis so I think I've literally tried every mask out there!
I really rate the Equilibrium ones, think they are great and the filter UV which was a concern to me at the time but every horse I've ever had has worn one.
I also have the rambo visor one you mention and think it's brilliant. I got mine unused but second hand on eBay as it was too big for someone's pony so was cheaper than shop prices. I'm not sure what they cost now but if they were about the same price as equilibrium and uv isn't an issue but eye clearance is Id buy the Rambo. If they are loads more expensive Id go Equilibrium.
The only down fall with Rambo is you can't put a headcollar on so have to put it on in the field which for some might be a problem?
 
Equilibrium fly masks are nice and stiff not squishy around the eyes. You can get them with or without ears or for total protection there is the max relief which covers ears and muzzle - http://www.countrybase.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=Equilibrium-Field-Relief-Max-Fly-Mask

I have the Rambo one and I do like it - it's even survived a year which is longer than usual for one of my fly mask! However, I bought it in a sale and I'm not sure I would pay full price for it knowing how easy masks are to trash.
 
I always use the Cashel Crusader fly masks. They are quite pricey, but have always lasted well and there is plenty of room around the eyes. My old pony had ERU so nothing could be close to his eyes and these were never a problem. :)

I've got these and I also rate them highly.
 
I vote for the equilibrium and added bonus is my horse has not been able to get it off yet! Am always picking up other horses flymasks when I collect my horse from the field, but mine is always still on my horse :)

That's what I was going to suggest. The fleecy strip keeps it a little more away from the eyes. They do come up big though, both my tbs are in the cob despite needing a full in headcollars.
