I bought a Derby House one last year, but it don't fit any of my neds

:

Dizzy needs one: 16.3hh coat -rack thin (but I'm working on it!) Dutch Warmblood.

Little Lad needs one: 13.1hh-ish, Welsh Mountain cross (with what we do not know, but cute), good sized body and good shoulder.

Little Cob will want one if the other two have them (he gets jealous!): 13.3hh-ish Traditional Cob. Lightweight for a cob. Reasonably fit. Not huge across the shoulders/chest.

The Derby House one was way too long for anything it was the right width for

. We have to shortern all the belly straps on just about everything!

I have an amigo bug rug for a 16hh TB and a 14hh native type and it fits both of them really nicely - I'd definitely recommend it. (Very reasonable too, I got mine for £35 - always a plus!) Chunky sec c has a weatherbeeta, same as all her rugs; they seem to fit cobbier horses well.

I have two - a Mark Todd one and an Amigo. Can't remember which horse wears which one. Pretty sure I've got the Mark Todd on a fairly lightweight TB although she tends to turn into a bit of a belly porker in summer. And then an Amigo on my Quarter Horse x TB who is a fairly chunky TB type. He seems to fit the Amigos nicely in other rugs so that may suit your lighter cob?

Ah, the Mark Todd. We have a MT reflective exercise sheet that fits the Dizz well so that might be the route to go for her, and maybe the Amigo on Little Cob - I think we have an Amigo rug somewhere so I'll check the fit

Rambo Protector, it's fab! Might be a little more expensive than the others but it lasts! My horse wrecks rugs and he is about to go into his third summer with it! Admittedly it doesn't look new anymore, but it's not ripped or anything. All the others are too flimsey for my liking.

I like my weatherbeeta fly rug - has lasted several years despite the fact my horse likes to destroy rugs usually! I think it's a good fit (not as wide on the shoulders as some of their winter rugs, but then you said you don't want it too wide there!) and it really seems to help protect him from flies (I love the fact it covers his belly too).

I have an amigo bug rug 6ft9 for much cheapness PM me if you fancy. I used it on my 6ft6 horse think it fitted better.

I had a horse with sweetitch and he was in a boett, and destroyed it, so as a quick fix we went to Tsco and got one of there cheep ones.. It kept the midges off him and he didnt destroy it!

My boy normally has Mark Todd or Weatherbeeta rugs and his fits really well. Although the neck could do with being a little longer for him really.
My little girl only normally has Weatherbeeta rugs as these fit her the best, hers fits well as well.

I can't work out if that is helpful or not!!

My horse is a TB x WB but looks more like a TB. It fits him very well and is nice and deep with a big tail flap which is what I like and it doesnt have those horrid big buckle straps flapping around and he doesn't get hot in it which I have found with others. I think in general it fits the chest and shoulders like an Amigo so if your horse is fine in them he will be fine in the Protector.

Amigo Bug rug, fit beautifully due to the "soft" material and with a detachable neck rug... good price too and my girlie hasn't trashed hers despite rolling for England.... PLUS, you can get a short waterproof cotton liner to fit them thus making them waterproof..

I usually love weatherbeeta but was dissapointed with the fly rug, it makes her really really hot, I actaully have a rif raf one now which is excellent and quite cheap too, it has a simular fit to weatherbeeta. I brought mine 3 years ago tho, dont kno if they are still available x

I've got Amigo Bug Rugs for all 3 of mine and it fits them all well; touch wood no rips after a long spring/summer/autumn wearing them.

I have a 14HH QH mare built like a tank, 16HH fine TB and 17HH TB with big shoulders.

Another vote for the bug rug mine did rip but my horse was a serial rug ripper as he would lean over fences to get the grass the other side (he was 17hh+)

if anyone has any 6.9ft ones please pm me - am in need !!! condition doesnt matter as field buddy will try and destroy it!
