Thanks to sweet itch arriving with a bang, my gelding has lost a fair amount of his previously gorgeous flaxen tail. I've invested in some Coopers which should sort the cause out, but not sure the best thing to get to encourage the regrowth of the hair. Any suggestions?

Here's one not to go for... Shapleys MTG - smells like bacon grease and I am not convinced it worked when I tried it!

Also lots of things to put in feed which theoretically stimulate tail growth - dunno if any of them actually work.

Baby oil massages into whole of the dock. Do it about once a week, just be careful when the weather gets hot and sunny otherwise he may burn.

My horse's tail was chewed by another and never went beyond the hock. I was told to use this, laughed at the suggestion and then tried it. OMG!!! Within a few weeks we had a few inches growth.

Now I have to cut her tail rather than add extensions to it!

I rarely use it now it's the correct length.
