Best freeze mark company?

Farmkey did Buddy's, and my previous horse's. I got personlised ones too :D They came out really quickly and its pretty cheap. Lady who did it was really good too, she wasn't the least bit fazed when Bud's barged her over for food (with a frozen iron in her hand :o).

Freezemark.biz - and the original company. Heard and experienced far too much bad stuff with Farmkey, although lots recommend them too.

My pony was done by farmkey before we bought her, she was a thin skinned, light chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. They did her on her back under her saddle and completley messed it up. It was totally unreadable and they also killed her hair off completley so she was left with 4 areas of bald pink skin which if turned out rugless burnt to a crisp making her unrideable ( not good for a jumping pony ).

My current horse is a leopard spot appaloosa and has pink skin over his entire body except where his spots are. Being nosy I rang 2 companies enquiring how they would do him to ensure I didnt have a repeat performance and they basically said that he would get burnt by the sun as they couldnt freezemark him without killing the hair off.

We've had Freezemark LTD round twice, and the first time I was really impressed, they came out quickly, the lady was very good with the horses & all went smoothy - I've been singing their praises since!

But last time round I wasn't impressed, I'd try Farmkey if I was to have it done again. It took months and months to get an appointment, and i realise they're busy and need to wait until they have "enough" people in an area but they were awful at getting back to us (never did!) and we had to do all of the chasing despite them saying they'd ring us back the next day on several occasions - and when they finally did get in touch they were very rude over the phone and if I wasn't so desperate to have it done then I would've said "forget it!" and gone with Farmkey.
On a separate note, they had also lost all of the details for one of the horses they'd freezemarked the first time, and turned out he wasn't even on their system - so if he had got stolen, they wouldn't have had any of his info or proof that he'd been freezemarked with them!
When she came to do the FM'ing she was ok, was a bit more rushed than before but wasn't phased by horse charging round the yard like a wild dragon and it all got done which I suppose is all that matters, though their customer service could have been much better. We may have just been unlucky though, I have heard a lot of good things about them generally.
