Much to his delight my Large Munsterlander is now on his 'Crufts diet' to get up to show weight (I like him a lean weight normally but that goes against him in the ring, especially as he is so tall, so he has to gain a few pounds!)

I am supplementing his normal feeding routine with a pack of frozen meat each day.

I grabbed a handful of the ones they sell in Pets At Home but they are expensive and i am sure there must be better stuff out there.

I have just looked at this stuff - http://www.berriewoodwholesale.co.uk/sec/5764/Berriewood/- but before i order I thought i'd ask you lovely people what you use?

I only want the pre-measured pack that i can simply open one and feed.

Dont want to convert to BARF completely.

i use berriewoods - the stuff you linked to. I have found the lamb is exceptional for putting weight on:eek::D Am very pleased with their meats and service, delivery is cheap too.

I used berriewoods this time round! Well packaged and good quality, fast delivery and pooch is doing well on it!

If you are intending just to put weight on him, a couple weeks on the tripe meat will do wonders. We use that in rescue if a dog is a bit on the thin side to get them to put weight on. Berriewoods is the cheapest around or if you can stomach it, you can get a whole tripe from your butches and cut it up yourself (only advisable if you have a very poor sense of smell).
Natural Instinct although very good quality is rather expensive, more so that the frozen blocks at Pets4homes.

sorry to disagree but tripe is actually pretty low in fat. Its great for getting a reluctant dog to eat though. The best meats for weight gain are lamb and duck. One of my young bitches i had virtually given up on getting her better covered, tried every type of meat and she has a good appetite. A few weeks on the lamb from Berriewood and Ive had to cut it back, she is almost podgy!!!

Agree!

Minced beef is also good and fat making: my lot rarely get it as two are prone to weight gain.
