Give me your best Girth vote...

Which ones do you use and why!

i have quite a few padded leather with elastic in the middle (specially made for me), also Wintec chafeless and thoroughgood. umm, also Stubben string girth, and Kay Humphries cotton girth.
i won't use anything with elastic at one end, they are the work of the devil!

for every day i use a wintec, and its great, much better then previous leather girths
use a comfort zone stud girth for jumping which is also very good

I have one with elastic at one end! Will agree with the devils work thing, my hand slipped the other day and I proceeded to give myself a slap in the eyeball

..not good. Keeping a watch on e-bay for a leather one.

I have a Sabre dressage which I use on my jumping saddle and an Elevator dressage on my Dressage saddle. Both are leather with elastic both ends.

Thorogood...fab fit, real comfy, looks like new even after 2 years heavy use and scubs clean with a hose and brush!

Wintec or the thorowgood one which is just the same but cheaper. Used alongside an anti slip pad I've not once had a problem with a saddle slipping on a table backed pony

Have to nominate two I'm afraid.

Frank Baines Sheepskin lined girth - leather, sheepskin and adjusts at both ends. It's perfect for my thin skinned oldie.

Professional Choice - neoprene with elastic both ends. Suits the cob perfectly as it helps stop his saddle slipping.

Stubben Trevira Cord for my GP, and a fab secondhand Kate Negus leather padded one for my dressage saddle (Ebay is great when you find what you're looking for!).

Does the padding in the middle ever cause friction with the horse? I don't like elasticated on both ends

The Wintec girths, can they be used with any saddle or just the wintec models.

i have to say mollie's wintec girth is lovely and they last forever, have not long had to replace her old one which lasted years

I also have the lemico wave girth from D&T - is v comfy for the horse can't comment on durability yet as only had it a week with the horse! although it is designed for maximum durability x
