Hi

i remember a post a while back about grass seeds mixes can anyone recomend a mix which is hard wearing?

cheers and full fat chocy for people

:)

Not exactly sure of the mix but I get mine from www.thegrassseedstore.co.uk and they do a special gateway/overseed mix which is quicker growing than normal seed. If only I can get the rabbits to stop eating mine it might get a chance to grow!

Personally I prefer more fescues than ryegrass as they are less likely to cause laminitis and holds the soil together better.

why don't you rest it and see what happens? even the most trashed ground can recover suprisingly well and with gateways especially it's pretty pointless re-seeding as the same is going to happen next winter...

hi thanks for that, the front bit does get rested in the spring summer, but i thought i might just top up a bit, the gate way circle has just started to get a bit bigger and is mud also there are the odd patch round the field where it is the spot to stand and hence also down to the mud
