Was in our local Countrywide store today and saw an advert on the notice board for a labrador at stud. I took a photo because I couldn't believe what I was seeing but it won't reproduce on here. Here are some of the more gobsmacking bits.

"KC reg choc lab at stud ........ we mainly use x to stud new up and coming breeds such as Springerdors, Weimardors, labradoodle etc. .... x has a large pedigreee which is available upon request however we have put an endorsement on his pedigree not allowing anyone to kc reg pure bred puppies ... we want to promote new breeds, family and working, as the pedigree gene pool is growing ever smaller .
Stud fee £250

:mad::eek:

Surprise surprise there is no mention of hip or elbow scores!

Who are they trying to kid"dont want to endorse pure breeds"

The stud fee is unbelievable and I hope theyve priced themselves out of the market.

This makes me so angry no health checks god knows what it would pass on.

Unfortunately I think some idiots have already used him as another part of the ad states that he is a proven stud with litters of between 8 and 12!

I read that 3 times? I even read it out loud to the cat...

I know KC dont have much kudos these days;) but why dont they just say---dog available for stud- no pedigrees required in fact mongrols welcome?

twonks!

I had to read it several times when I saw it, couldn't believe what I was seeing. I don't know about the pedigree gene pool getting smaller, suspect the owner of this dog is from a pretty restricted one.:p

I think I have one from a related person..
Pup bought. Pup taken to vet with deformity. Vets fees (less than a hundred pounds at this stage and no expensive ops etc.) deemed to be too much. Pup left there and off owner goes to buy pups sibling....
Pup now sat in my living room temporarily..

MM you did make me laugh about owner being from a restricted gene pool.:D

Cant believe its been used before what muppets.

Reminds me of an ad I saw on Preloved I think about a Dobermann for stud, similar money no papers but good pedigree:D recommending to be used on Alsations,Mastiffs & Rotties. This dog was a good guard dog and used for security so not a nice temperment .

Find myself repeating a word that rhymes with Bankers with something to do with intercourse in front of it!!!

I think anyone who deliberately buys one of these funnynamed thingies needs to take a long hard look at what's going on behind the scenes, then wake up smell the bacon and walk away!!

I was speaking to a friend the other day who was moaning that they could not show their "pedigree" labradoodle as despite it apparently being a "recongised breed" (by who I wonder!) the KC refuse to register them. I pointed out a labradoodle was a mongrel as it was a X breed - She told me that "no they are a breed, the breeder showed me the pedigree of the mother and the father, they are both KC reg so why can't I reg the puppy" to which I re-iterated that the pup x breed, it is a mongrel - I think I may be off their Christmas card list somehow ;)

So they bought a pet quality puppy from a breeder who wisely put on the endorsement "progeny not eligible for registration" on his papers and are trying to cash in.

Maybe ask for details & contact this dog's breeder as I bet there was a contract that said he was not for breeding?

That was my thought too. Ive found their website (its a livery yard), and they have a litter of chocolate labs, prob by this dog, no further details or mention if kc reg so I think I will try and find out more.;)

Ets. And a litter of "Jack Chows" due, whatever they are.

Gah, some people need to just go out and get a job and stop whoring out their pets....and if anyone wants to take offence at that - yes, if you breed pups or stud your dogs, without them being health tested with good results, without them being proven in work, show or as a 'corrector', for cash and for only cash, then yes, I mean you :)

Wow - Malakit

I may be wrong but I understand that both Malamutes and Akitas are energy filled, intelligent (more than can be said for the owner...) and potentialy difficult dogs if not properly handled. Not to be reccomended to a first time owner or someone so dense they don't know that a mongrel is a mongrel. Selling 'Malakits' to people who know little enough to buy a pure bred mongrel off preloved with no health checks....sounds like a train wreak to me.
