Best heavyweight rug for a high-withered TB to avoid wither rubs?

My grey horse has very very high withers and managed to give himself a nasty sore on his withers last year. I would really like to get him a rug that does not rub and most importantly does not put undue pressure on his wither when he puts his head down to graze. As he has previously injured himself there, I am paranoid that the wound will reopen.

Any suggestions? I would prefer a detachable neck if possible to avoid the pressure of a combo rug.

I've just got a Weatherbeeta Orican detatchable neck rug that has wither protection! It's shaped in that area and seems to almost have extra padding, almost like a gullet less sheepskin half pad if that makes sense so it relieves pressure on the area. Didn't look in detail.

My mare is quite high withered and it seems to fit her really well - only been on two days though!

ETA this is the one I got http://www.surreyequestrian.co.uk/weatherbeeta-orican-freestyle-detach-a-neck-heavy.html

Both my mares have the Premier Equine HW rug (the one with detachable neck cover rather than the combo) and after 2 seasons I am more than happy with them.

Mt TB mare in particular has v high withers, and this rug fits her very well.

Personally i like the fit of Fal rugs on TB's and have also found Rambo's to fit well, the worst offender for not fitting TB's was Masta's, something i found out after i had bought 6 in one go!

I had a WB with very high withers last year and he wore PE all winter, both stable rug and t/o (HW and MW). All of them fitted him perfectly and never had a problem.
