Having a bit of trouble finding some that dont slip or rub!!

Dexter has Eskadron XC boots on the front and wore Sabre leather boots on the hind which I love at the weekend but the Sabre boots being leather have rubbed him (thin skinned TB!) and ive found the Eskadron hinds slip when wet.

Am thinking maybe the Prolite ones but dont want to spend out if they are going to slip again!!

Any help appreciated

The NEW ones or the premier equine ones. Prolite backs are always really disappointing. Sabre will make you their leather ones with a fur lining if you ask them.....

I use Prolite on Dylans hind and have found them excellent. No slipping and so far no wear and tear they have had a quite a lot of use as well!
Well worth the money!

Hope this helps!

My Prolites have never moved, and I find the furry ones such as NEW and style tend to rub on the seam. Prolites have never caused a prob on G's sensitive pink legs!!

i have the NEW without fluffy bits have had them on both of mind never slipped or rubbed

work uses Dalmar (well they are sponsered by them lol!) and they seem very good ...... last etc...

I bought some dalmar hinds at burghley and I'm using them on sunday for the first time so I'll let you know what I think of them. My sister has been using the fronts on her asbo pony for 3yrs and they have saved his legs many times so hopefully the hinds are just as good.

i have the LW NEW but dont feel they have enough padding in them, my mare wacked a fence once and was bruised underneath, despite the boots. wouldnt want to buy the fleecy NEW, as i hate fleece, gets full of grit and dirt, plus they slip.
im in the same position as you holly_jane and thinking maybe prolite??

Thanks for the advice everyone - having looked at the Premier Equine ones they look quite good. Think it will have to be a pair of them

are all the PE boots machine washable??? just wondering
you'll have to let us all know what you thik of the PE boots, if you get them

Before you splash out on new boots, why not try putting tubigrip on under your Sabre ones? You can fold this down over the top and put tape round it - this should stop the boots rubbing and save you a few quid too!

I have a set of the PE aircool boots and they rubbed horribly so I only ever used them once. Now have the fleece lined NEW boots as fleece is the best lining for not rubbing and keeping legs cool. Any sort of neoprene next to the skin heats the tendons up far too much. The fleecy NEW boots are fab though I did remove the shatterproof tendon guards as they seemed to move round slightly and dig in. The fleece provides plenty of padding anyway.

Removing the tendon guards would go against the point of having XC boots though? Fleece would offer no protection against a heavy knock/hoof into back of tendon!!

I should have added that I compete endurance not XC so jumping related injuries are not an issue. Extended wear and rubbing is (we do a minimum of 20 miles/3 hours in the saddle mostly at trot and canter through bogs, over rocks, sand and grass) - finding boots that don't rub thin arab skin is very tricky. The fleecy NEW boots are the only ones that haven't rubbed and legs don't overheat either.

AH ok, see your point!! Lol!! HAve you tried their protective exercise boots? just like fleece lined brushing boots and very soft...my pony had some to hunt in!!
