Best hoof boots for turnout for a horse with silicone pads

Hi, my horse is recovering from a severe bout of laminitis and is now starting to be allowed to go for short walks to the ménage. I’m hoping in the not to far distant future he will also be allowed to start having a small amount of turnout.
He has heart bar shoes with silicone pads (which he is expected to have for about a year) and was wondering what type of hoof boots people use as my farrier said it’s not ideal if mud and water get in between his sole and the pads.
Any suggestions/advice welcome! Thanks in advance.

Hoof boots to put over the heart bar shoes/pads? Don’t think there are any such things. Hoof boots usually go onto unshod feet.

IME mud and grit don’t get in under pads, but I’ve only used them when the ground is hard and dry, not through winter.
Oh I see! Sorry for being stupid!? But thank you for that information!

Are you meaning over reach boots?
No not over reach boots, but don’t think hoof boots are what I’m thinking of either! I was looking for something that would just cover up his feet just in case any wet or mud managed to get under his pads rather than something like hoof boots which are used instead of shoes, if you get what I’m saying.

****EDIT****

Thank you for all your replies with advice/suggestions.

Don't think that hoof boots was the right word for what I am thinking of.

I was looking to see if there was anything that I could use to just cover his pads/hooves to ensure than no mud or water got underneath them. Not a replacement for a shoe which hoof boots appear to be basically for.

You can now get hoof boots which go on a shod foot but for the life of me I can’t remember where I saw them being discussed. I think they might have been Cavallos but not entirely sure and I think the solutions others have suggested would work far better. If it’s any help my recovered laminitic has a liquid gel in his front feet, it’s a rapid drying chemical which solidifies and supports the whole foot. Water and grit never get under it and the foot doesn’t smell when the shoes come off. It adds an extra £40 to the cost of shoeing but it’s been worth every penny for the cushioning alone.

Thank you for that information! Will have a look into it.
