BEST HORSEBOX FOR MONEY!!

Lorries aren't all bad!

I used to put aside some money each month to prepare for plating. Usually £1k is plenty. So less than £100 per month and if you dont need it all then you can go shopping!

Can I have your box please??!!!!!!!

Freestyler I have never paid over £1k for plating, its usually around the £400 mark, £75 for a tank of diesel which lasts ages and £165 for tax. The insurance and rescue are about £400 also. Its not too bad and you get to make a cup of coffee and meals in the lorry, not to mention you don't have to get changed with the wind whistling around your bum! I don't think I could ever go back to a trailer now.

Like Kerilli says - my old V plate bedford has not cost us over £100 total in the 14 years we've had it! Although it's so basic there's not much to go wrong - no turbo, no power steering etc. A friend used to laugh at her and said she was an old dog - she flew her test 1st time and their huge Whitaker failed

Just bought a new chassis M plate MAN 7.5t just needs new brake calipers to get through MOT - mechanic qouted £500 but OH going to do them

Ive got an old merc, so far cost of plating has been £400! not bad, mums 4x4 cost double that at its annual service on average! And any welding that has been done has been purely cosmetic, the chasis is in very very good condition

Our NML likes our lorry alot, very easy engine access, merc do parts for it so whilst more expensive they are readily available (helps that a merc commercial dealership and service center is down the road). And needs very little doing to it (he takes it for its plateing for us).

its been well looked after though! If it has needed anything doing it has been done immediately and not left until it had to be done! and the people before us well the guy was a mechanic and the lorry had new brakes and a new floor just before we got it!

I couldnt go back to a trailer ever again! I like my creature comforts, makeing a cup of tea or getting changed without getting frozen and space to tack up a horse even if it is chucking it down outside you can stay nice and dry!

I did wet horrible shows with a trailer and with 2 in a trailer you couldnt get a saddle on a horse as there was no room, in a box there is plenty of room!
